Akira The Bounty Hunter - Prolog - EN03

Two years had passed since this alien race had completely conquered the planet.
Although wars that shook this universe were always breaking out, even the Mars Revolution did not have such a far-reaching and devastating influence as the rule of these new master races. Thus began then the rule of the Singarti and the systematic exploitation of mankind.
They introduced a cruel hierarchy in which it was not important which religion or which ethnicity one belonged to, but which benefit one could give to the Singarti. They not only wanted to rule over humanity, they also possessed a god complex and wanted to be worshipped. Their claim to rule was surpassed only by their ego.
The leadership position in the Revatim production and war machinery were very important to the Singarti.
They were very highly respected and received great protection and recognition. They hardly suffered under the rule of the wolves.
People who helped the Singarti were so important to the wolves that some of them were given special privileges, making them equal to a Singarti.
Policemen and soldiers had to swear allegiance to the Singarti, and those who did not were deported to a labor camp. There they had to do forced labor until they died.
People on the side of the Singarti were among their allies, they formed a common coalition that had only one goal. They helped the wolves in their atrocities, the destruction of every enemy.
Excluded were the replaceable workers, although they worked directly for the wolves, they were considered enemies of the Singarti. For the working class was nothing but forced laborers. They suffered the most under the new rule. While the Singarti and their allies chauffeured themselves in their vehicles, this class was strictly forbidden to own a car or bicycle, let alone ride one. Only on trains that were far too crowded were workers allowed to move to their work sites.
The trains provided had only one station per city, where all workers gathered in the morning to be taken to the factories afterwards.
Workers were strictly forbidden to be outside their place of work. It was usually punishable by death, even if the worker had papers to be elsewhere. The Singarti showed neither mercy nor understanding and killed and mauled the workers while they were still on the spot. The Singarti also kill one or two people during random patrols of the factories to demonstrate their power. If a worker did not report to his work site because he overslept or was sick, he could expect the Singarti to deport him to a labor camp. Twelve hours a day without a break, people stood in the Revatim factories, without mouth guards or breathing masks, exposed to the toxic gases produced during Revatim manufacture. The gas slowly ate through their lungs and many workers died as a result.
The women of these workers were hit even harder in some cases, because the Singarti had an archaic image of women. There were usually no women in the factories or even outside the home.
Grade human women were considered too weak to do the work in the factories. They were forced to do their work from home in the home office. On the side, of course, they had to take care of child rearing and household chores.
When the women left the house, even if only to go shopping, they sometimes got into big trouble.
It is true that the brothels were well frequented by the Singarti and kept them happy. But for many wolves it was fun and a pastime to rape working class women. Especially the common people were considered enemies, so they had no value for the Singarti. Rapes of these creatures often happened in the open street. Every woman they liked was a potential victim and had to expect assault and even death if she was outside their house.
This procedure often resulted in brutal murders, as during the rape some Singarti tore their victims' heads off their shoulders, while other women suffered internal bleeding afterwards and were left like garbage to die. The police and military simply looked the other way at these atrocities, they had sworn allegiance to the Singarti and only cared about their own.
People who revolted against the Singarti at the beginning of the war were deported and often ended up on other planets where they mined minerals and other resources for the Singarti.
The Wolves found themselves in a precarious position when they realized that there were hardly any people left for forced labor on foreign planets and that the war machine could spare no one. So they did something cruel even by their standards. In a night-and-fog action, human soldiers invaded hospitals. In the infant wards, they took every newborn they found and deported them. They secretly took tens of thousands of children from Earth and scattered them throughout the galaxy.
The people lost all freedom due to the takeover, they were not allowed to pursue any leisure activities outside the home, even in their free time. Who was not on direct way home and caught, came directly into the work camp. Although the wolves claimed that it was for protection, because the Singarti were still fighting against isolated terrorist cells. But everyone knew that was just a lame excuse. For the Singarti took pleasure in the suffering of humans, as they did with every species. But this time the wolves had crossed a border, snatching their children from the parents caused worldwide outrage and riots.
People everywhere took to the streets and demonstrated against the brutal rule of the Singarti. There were worldwide protests in which thousands of demonstrators were shot and mauled by the Singarti. The fear, but also the anger against the Singarti grew so much that many people joined the resistance. They mingled with the demonstrators. The resistance's guerrilla tactics proved successful against the Singarti. More than a hundred of these beasts were killed during the protests.
Flare-ups of worldwide resistance seemed to cause the Singarti great concern, and when many workers finally walked off the job, they relented and changed tactics.
Instead of the Singarti, human security was now used to monitor workers in the factories. However, the Revatim factories remained almost unchanged. The Singarti feared that the humans would change the chemical composition and thus kill the wolves. But the plants changed so that the toxic gases were completely extracted.
Except for patrolling the sites, the Singarti were gone. At least that's what many thought, because the Singarti were building huge labor camps outside the site. Either people had to work there all day or they served to produce food. Whoever was there once did not come out alive, the Singarti made sure of that. Anyone who demonstrated against the wolves was sent to one of these camps. Also the wolves introduced a new law, every person older than 35 was taken by the Singarti to a secret place. We first assumed that these people would be sold as slaves to another species, or that they would simply be used as work slaves on other planets.
But the wolves had far more cruel plans, because mankind recovered quickly from the war and food became scarce. So the humans were brought over 35 to their ascension, so the wolves called it, to hide their true intentions. The humans were to be taken to another planet as thanks for serving the Singarti. But this was not so, our spies found factories on the east coast, there these people were killed mercilessly and from their remains soap, leather and meat was extracted.
